Kettering health is still facing aftershocks of its weeks-old cyber attack. Basically, it is a network which stores medical and emergency centres data. It’s been two weeks since the attacks. And the company is still trying to recover from the mishap. Because of the cyber attack, the company had to shut down all of its systems across technological terms.

On the electronic front, there were some core components that the health industry was able to recover from the electronic system of health records. Currently the epic really helped in this purpose. All of the health data and record systems were provided by the epic. After that the company was able to update and process all of the health records as well as the patient data.

Communication all across the teams was also affected and the care for patients was also facing some disruptions. But thanks to this access now the systems within the health facility will be able to coordinate appropriately.

Patients are completely relying on the catering health and they are not being able to call their doctors and their offices. There are some problems that are happening within the system. That’s why the refilling of medications and emergency rooms are not accessible right now. According to a patient, everything within the catching health is being done with the help of paper and a fan. Which means they are doing all of the work by their own hands.

When you take a look at the local subjects, then you find out that there are some other issues that the patients are facing. No, those patients who have emergency situations such as the risk of seizures cannot refill their medications as well as cannot call their doctors because phone lines are all so down right now in the centre. Due to this ongoing situation, everything is happening on paper. There are no computers and no technology in use right now that’s why the phone service is also really snobby in that area. And some of the people were also writing to not use kettering for the time being.

There were many patients who had cancer sessions before and after tests of operations. There were also some chemotherapy sessions that got cancelled. According to the vice president of emergency of catering health John Weimer, this attack was a ransom war. The company did not pay any kind of ransom amount, but the hackers still did their damage.

After they came to know about the ransom attack, they immediately closed all of the IT systems and infrastructure. That’s why their contact with all of the world was cancelled too. Even after the network and data was compromised, the company was still able to recover sensitive files of their patients.
