A prominent chipmaker giant company qualcomm just fixed a series of zero days in the chips. The company gave patches including the zero days which were in use by the hackers.
According to the Google threat analysis group, which is also known as TAG. There were these three loopholes and vulnerabilities which were in use or under threat of use by the hackers. And the call patched it all up. Apparently Google and its android security company gave qualcomm 30 days. And in February qualcomm investigated them and fixed them.
Basically, a zero day is a vulnerability in the security of a software or hardware. Which is unknown to anyone who has made the software or the hardware. And this zero day is extremely valuable for the government hackers as well as the bad hackers and cyber criminals.
We all know that android has a nature which distributes easily and provides things at the open source. That’s why android gave the patches to manufacturers of the devices so they can apply it. This means that there are many or some devices that are still vulnerable for many weeks to come.
Even though qualcomm has made the patches available to everybody and android has also distributed them openly but there are still some devices whose manufacturers are not going to apply patches to them. Which means they are under a serious threat by the hackers.
From May the patches have been available to the manufacturers and device makers. There was a really strong advice by the company to immediately apply updates and patches as soon as possible.
According to Ed Fernandez, a spokesperson of Google the pixel devices are safe from these vulnerabilities. However, we need more information but Kimberly Samra did not provide any information about the zero days and their circumstances. She is a spokesperson for the Google TAG and she’s not ready to tell us the situation in which the TAG found these zero days.
Right now, we need to cheer for qualcomm. Because of their acknowledgement for these fixes. According to the company they are always encouraging the users to apply updates and security changes as soon as they are available on your device. Because this helps your device to stay up-to-date with the company’s system and the company always tries to protect its devices.
The chip searches that are available in your mobile devices are an open target for hackers. As they can easily find zero days that the developers were not really successful to find. Because with the help of a certain shape you can access the complete operating system system. And a hacker can easily jump to conclusions that match one part with the other and find out the sensitive data of the device.
